2 Bedrooms • 1 Bathroom 1 Bath • Sleeps 2-4Settle into this spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bath home for your next Columbia River Gorge adventure trip. After a long day playing, you’ll appreciate the grand leather couch for lounging after dinner and the California King Bed where everyone can sleep comfortably. The kitchen comes fully equipped to prepare a feast or help you pack your lunch for a day of exploration. And at the end of the day, stream your favorite provider with the Fire TV.
Step outside into expansive green space in the heart of North Bonneville. You’ll see a large map nearby (and one in your Guest Guide) to the 12+ miles of paved and unpaved bike paths that weave along the Columbia River, through stands of douglas fir, past the disc golf course and local library, and right back to your front door. Head to Trailhead Taproom just across the park for an easy lunch spot, a cold beer, or your bike rental. Or, head just a few miles to Beacon Rock State park to ascend the 848-foot monolith (world’s second largest) to snag spectacular views of the Gorge. Shorter and longer hiking options continue with the Pacific Crest Trail, Eagle Creek, Hamilton Mountain and more.
→ Get Ready to Feel at Home
Return home from your day of adventuring near and afar to lounge on the soft leather couch with ample floor space for sprawling and playing. Clean, simple and cozy furnishings will welcome you home and allow you to make the place your own for your stay. Stock your full-size fridge with the essentials (a grocery store is located just a few miles away in Stevenson) and prepare meals or midnight snacks Or, swing by any number of restaurants for an easier meal option. Grab the Amazon Fire Stick remote to sign into any of your streaming platforms or grab a game to play.
→ Nearby Adventuring
Exploring out the back door is our favorite thing about this home. Bring your bike or rent one for a cruise around town and out to the sweeping views of the Columbia River at Strawberry Island. Dip into Hamilton Creek, flowing just a short walk from your front door, for some water play time and exploration. The Pierce Wildlife Refuge nearby attracts migratory birds, turtles and other wildlife for viewing. You can also bring your discs or clubs for a round of golf either at the disc golf course in town or the Beacon Rock golf course just down the road.
And that is just within walking distance of your front door. Numerous trails and sights lay within a 10 mile radius, like the waterfalls pouring off the basalt cliffs on the Oregon side near Cascade Locks or viewing the migrating salmon through the fish windows at Bonneville Dam. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses the Columbia River just a mile outside of North Bonneville. Take a spur off the trail to see Dry Creek Falls, making the out-and-back adventure one to remember. With so many trail options, we had to include lots of maps and descriptions in your Guest Guide’s Adventure Appendices, which we’ll provide you.
Bonneville also attracts avid fisherman. There are 10 lakes within 3 miles and 5 streams within 5 miles of town, all of which seasonally host salmon and steelhead trout.
Farther afield you’ll find epic mountains and rivers to explore. We’re partial to the whitewater rafting and kayaking on the nearby White Salmon River, Klickitat River or Wind River having moved to the region for these whitewater gems and guided their rapids for many summers. Basically, the adventure options here are truly endless.
→ Local Food
You’ll love your backyard Trailhead Taproom for beer, food and gear. The local deli and sandwich shop next door has quicker options for snacks and lunch as well. We also love the Walking Man Brewery in Stevenson, just 4 miles away. The character, the food, and the brews all make it one of our favorite places. You can also sit outside at Thunder Island Brewing in Cascade Locks just across the Bridge of the Gods in Oregon.
→ Weather
Pacific Northwest at it’s best. Expect sun and rain, often simultaneously, for much of the year here. The dynamic play between the two makes for epic sunsets and skies. The lush forest benefits from the moisture of the Northwest, and you will too if you pack that rain coat. Luckily, the winters are mild with rare snow. Summer months can be hot and dry, so don’t forget the sunscreen, too.
